Happy New Year Agents, Reps and Distributors,

Kinamed recently sponsored a symposium at the CCJR Winter Meeting in Florida (see blog post here).  Part of that symposium featured brand new video of a KineMatch PFR procedure performed by Dr. Adolph Lombardi of New Albany, Ohio.

That video is now available to view and share with your surgeons. Here’s the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNrtXizHxRg&feature=youtu.be

This is a great new sales tool you can start using today to grow your KineMatch business! Here are a few reasons why:

1)     It covers the entire procedure and can be used as a technique training video. Some surgeons have told us they like the idea of the patient-matched KineMatch design, but would like to see the femoral preparation before doing their first one. Now you’ve got a great response to that concern. Note that Dr. Lombardi prefers to use a Biomet patella (hence the patellar instruments shown in the video are not ours).

2)     The KineMatch technique is extremely simple and fast, though it can be hard to convey that in a sales pitch and surgeons often don’t realize how easy it is until after their first case. This video gets the simplicity across. It almost looks too easy.

3)     Dr. Lombardi is a world-renowned, highly-respected surgeon with 10+ years of experience with the KineMatch implant.

4)     Dr. Lombardi does this surgery without tourniquet and uses CarboJet to ensure a clean and dry cement bed.

5)     Great quotes from Dr. Lombardi in this video include:

“We’ve done the contralateral side [with a KineMatch PFR] and she [the patient] is actually ecstatic with it.”

“The reason I like this implant is that it’s very bone conserving and I get to look at a model preoperatively. This 3D model is created for me, so I get to visualize exactly where the component is going to sit”

“The main criticism of these custom devices is that we sort of restore perhaps the erroneous internal rotation of the trochlear groove and especially in dysplastic that we’re not reconstructing this trochlear groove in line with the Transepicondylar axis. That’s not true in this system. Yes I am going to follow the patient’s anatomy, but the ultimate articulating surface is going to be lined up with the TE axis – the Transepicondylar Axis”

Another unique feature of this video is that fact that Dr. Lombardi opts to utilize our “autoclaveable bone model” which can be manufactured and made available at an additional cost to the hospital. The vast majority of surgeons do not find it necessary to have a sterile bone model. Our standard (powder-based) bone model is provided at no charge, and IS NOT autoclaveable. That said, it is always a good idea for you, the sales rep, to have the standard model available for visual reference at the surgery.

And the reviews are already in!

In the comments on Youtube, world-famous Dr. Alan Merchant (of the “Merchant view x-ray”) posted the following comment:

“An excellent presentation by an excellent surgeon using an established technique that has received too little exposure. Dr. Lombardi makes it look so easy, that any orthopedic surgeon who does total joints could do this using this video as a training film. Al Merchant MD”

A well-known thought leader endorsing the endorsement of another well-known thought leader…This is the stuff sales are made of! Let’s put this video to use and “make it happen” now!

Best Regards,
