The below email was sent to our orthopedic surgeon email database on March 18, 2020.

Dear AAOS attendee,

In light of current events, we at Kinamed wanted to take this moment to let you know that we remain committed to providing you and your patients with clinically proven solutions. The two presentations linked below describe how Kinamed products can help you reduce pain after TKA and help you treat end-stage patellofemoral arthritis.

Eliminating the Tourniquet in TKA: Why and How I Do It
R. Michael Meneghini, MD – CCJR Winter 2019

This presentation is based on Dr. Meneghini’s excellent 2018 and 2019 JOA publications that looked at the effect of tourniquets on opioid use and the effect of CarboJet on cement penetration. The video is worth your time because it:

1. Provides summaries of the studies in the lead author’s own words.
2. Describes the background behind those studies and how the results changed the author’s practice.
3. Provides Dr. Meneghini’s blood management and anesthesia “best practices” for Tourniquetless TKA.
4. Shows CarboJet’s cleaning and drying power in action in a Tourniquetless TKA.

Patellofemoral Arthroplasty with a “Custom”, Patient-Specific Device: Surgical Case Video with Discussion
Adolph Lombardi, MD – CCJR Winter 2019

This video surgical demonstration is enhanced with commentary and slides from Dr. Lombardi, who draws on his 10+ years of experience using this implant. The video is worth your time because:

1. Dr. Lombardi discusses indications and contraindications for PFA. His description of the patient’s history and x-rays provides a great overview of how to think about the right indications for this procedure.
2. He describes the simple KineMatch process, including the surgeon communication and clear timeline of steps leading up to the DOS.
3. He compares clinical success of off-the-shelf PFRs to the KineMatch results.
4. He answers some commonly asked questions, such as “Why custom?” and “What about overstuffing?”

Additional videos and information are available on our website, www.kinamed.com. We hope you find this information useful and interesting. Please let us know if you have any questions by replying to this email, or complete the response form below.

We look forward to getting through this difficult time and to continuing to offer you and your patients clinically validated technologies for improved care.

Best Regards,
